Following my recent experience at hickory clinic, I strongly recommend seeking medical care elsewhere for your pet. Despite consulting with 6 ER vets over six days, issues with my dogs GI tract and heart went unnoticed, resulting in a false positive discharge on 4/20. Another vet later detected these issues after my dog suffered a fainting spell from a lack of oxygen that hickory never told me about or put in discharge instructions. We transferred to a facility nearby for superior care, including diagnostic proficiency, exceptional service and compassionate veterinarians.
Despite expressing dissatisfaction, hickory did not respond. Additionally, our dog spent over 15 hours in the oxygen cage without sunlight, and billing practices suggested potential bias. Sadly, my dog did not survive due to the overlooked airway issues.
Transferring to the other facility spared us additional trauma that would have come from hickory “specialists”. I strongly advise seeking care elsewhere to avoid hickory’s subpar service and conflicting opinions, which only add stress to an emotionally charged situation.

The care and concern for Goldie was above and beyond. We felt very safe and cared for and I think every worker there thoroughly enjoys their job. I can never thank them enough for all they did for us and Goldie Hawn. I will recommend them to everyone who needs great care for their pets.

Dr. Patel is great! She does primary care/rehab/emergency and I think she has seen Lucky for all 3 things. As a result, she is really knowledgeable about Lucky and we are on the same wavelength about his care.

Had a wonderful experience here. They were very thorough without trying to add extra things that weren’t necessary right away. I felt that everyone truly cared about my cat and wanted to do the best for him. Everyone was kind, knowledgeable, and they absolutely have my trust now. I will be going back here if the need comes up. I highly recommend them.

Babe was hit by a car in front of our house on Aug.19 th. at about 7PM.I was frantic, but knew that I could count on Hickory to help us out. Their care was swift, gentle, and my fears were quickly allayed. I was not even charged for my visit! And Babe was fine--two miracles in one night!

We just got 2 baby bulldog puppies and one was having stomach issues that required a few days in the hospital. Dr. Ulke was on his very first weekend shift as a vet. He checked in on her constantly and gave her his undivided attention. Since then he has been researching the latest and greatest with bulldogs and digestive issues. Our girls are now on the proper food and couldn't be happier. Even when they went in to get fixed, a surgeon had to do the procedure but Dr. Ulke was there by their side checking in on them and keeping us updated. Needless to say he is now our fulltime vet and we are very appreciative of the extra time and care he gives his patients. He works in a pretty big hospital and most patients see multiply doctors. But our girls go strictly to him. Dr. Ulke makes you feel like your pets are his only patients. THANK YOU DR. ULKE
